Privacy policy
Takt for Mac, iPhone and Android ยท last updated 3 October 2026
Takt is a task manager. Your tasks live on your devices. If you sign in to sync, a copy goes to our server so your other devices can fetch it. That's all we collect it for: we don't sell your data, show ads or track you, and the apps contain no analytics or advertising SDKs.
Without an account
If you never sign in, nothing leaves your device. Your workspace is stored only in the app's own storage.
What we keep when you sign in to sync
- Your account: your email address and, if you use one, a password. Passwords are stored only as a hash. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we get the email address they share with us, which may be an Apple private relay address.
- Your workspace: your tasks, lists, folders, notes, dailies, focus sessions, settings that sync, and the themes you add. It is stored so that your devices can merge their changes.
- Your devices: each device's name (for example "Adam's iPhone"), its platform and when it last synced, so that you can see which devices are signed in.
The data goes over HTTPS. It is stored by Supabase (accounts and the database, in London, UK) and processed by Railway (the sync server). Sign-in and password-reset emails are sent through Resend. They act on our behalf and don't use your data for anything else.
Deleting your data
In any of the apps, go to Settings โ Sync โ Delete account. This deletes your account, everything synced to the server and your list of devices, straight away. Each device keeps its own local copy until you delete the app or its data. Signing out stops syncing but keeps your account.
Children
Takt is not aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. A change that affects what we collect will also be noted in the app's release notes.
